Manifesto for Reconstruction

In the fracture runs the painful emptiness of the newly made gaps, in the gathering of the fragments you recover and the farewell to those irretrievably lost marks the imprint of your existence.

"The complexity of that reconstruction transforms you, making you someone else; at the end of the day, that's what you are."

"You are the moment of your reconstruction, the manifestation of those painful and beautiful moments, the imprint of your inflections and changes of direction, the strength that arises from your fragility, with nothing to hide you are the evidence of life beating."

The works I present are part of the "Manifesto to Reconstruction", a series I have worked on during the pandemic.

I began by gathering a series of Giclée prints I had made in the past and tearing them apart to reconstruct a new work; only after this particular process did I realize the creative potential that arises from the ruptures of the familiar. Through fragments of different works, I began a process of reconstruction and transformation.

"Manifesto to Reconstruction" is a very personal series where I pay homage to the Japanese practice of Kintsugi, based on repairing fractures to give beauty to scars.
